- Annual celebration during Labor Day Weekend in New Orleans to benefit local AIDS service organizatins. Now in its 33rd year, Southern Decadence has evolved into the largest gay weekend in New Orleans, having become known as the "Gay Mardi Gras." The 100,000+ visitors begin to arrive on Wednesday, and generally don't even think about stopping or leaving town until the following Tuesday. (Last confirmed date was 09/02/04 through 09/06/04. Future dates for this event have not been provided.)
